Standing Call for Papers for the Biomedical Data Journal

Submission deadline: 15 September 2015

Anticipated publication in BMDJ vol.1, no.4: December 2015

On a continuous basis we accept submissions in fields, different from those covered by active calls for papers. Once your paper is accepted and prepared in its final camera ready version, it will be openly accessible in the ‘Preview’ section of the website and will be assigned a DOI, thus providing for a quick impact and recognition of the authors.

If your your submission does not fit the topic of any of the currently active calls for papers for special issues, you may refer it to this "Standing Call".

Investments in research generate increasing amounts of data. Sharing data with fellow researchers saves redundant efforts and opens new venues for collaboration. Data re-use facilitates validation of research results. Its aggregation within larger datasets promises new discoveries.

The Biomedical Data Journal (BMDJ) facilitates the sharing, open access and use of experimental and clinical data by validating its quality and usability, acknowledging the scientific contribution of researchers and laboratory personnel that generated the data, widely disseminating data papers and respective datasets and assuring access in long-term. BMDJ’s focus is on biomedical datasets that can serve as a source for simulation and computational modeling of diseases and biological processes. Datasets availability is critical for training, optimization and validation of integrative mathematical models based on experimental (cell and animal datasets) and clinical observations (human datasets).

BMDJ publishes regular issues, as well as special issues focused on a particular biomedical field. If your contribution does not fit one of the active calls for special issues, you are invited to submit it to this Standing Call for Papers.

Interested contributors are invited to submit their datasets and manuscripts, prepared according to BMDJ Submission Guidance (where you can download templates for the types of papers published in the journal). For further details, please visit the BMDJ website at

Please submit your paper and dataset/s/ (if applicable) via the OpenScienceLink platform.
